Sawcut Gorge Walking Trails

Sawcut Gorge is in striking limestone bluff country. From the intersection of Ure Road and SH ! a 12 km road leads up the river. After about 3km cross to the other (south) side. At the road end a DOC sign indicates the route along a private farm road. (tell the landowner). Be prepared to get wet feet on the river walk. Sawcut Gorge is a 50-metre long limestone chasm around 150 metres deep but only 2 metres wide at its narrowest.
