Tararua iSite and Gottfried Lindauer Replica Studio in Woodville

TheTararua iSite offers free information on what to see and do, where to stay, where to eat in the Tararua District. Bookings and tickets for the Ferries, Airlines, Coach and Train. Bookings for accommodation and activities. It's location could be considered strategic given that it is at the intersection of State Highways 2 and 3
Right next door giving prominence to Woodville's claim to fame is a replica of painter Gottfried Lindaur's studio. Though Te Papa has generously allowed us to show an example of Lindauer's work here, his fame is actually attributed to his lifelike portrayal of Maori Rangitira (Royalty) from all tribes around New Zealand. Many of those artworks are held at Te Papa, with Iwi having an interest in them.

Image with thanks to Te Papa: Portrait of Myra Lindauer Graham nee Partridge, Henry Partridge’s daughter, circa 1890, New Zealand, by Gottfried Lindauer. Purchased 2013. Te Papa (2013-0025-1)
