Mt Wainui 722m

A six hour return tramp takes you to the peak of Mount Wainui to gain expansive views of Kapiti. Access is potentially through the Department of Conservation Whareroa farm park. Until the Whereroa Farm Park at Paekakariki is re-opened to the public the best access is from Paraparaumu: At the traffic lights cross railway line to the east, head south along Ruapehu St which becomes Valley Rd, after 3-4 km turn left into Maungakotukutuku Rd until you reach Campbell's Mill Road. The walk starts on Campbell's Mill Road which turns off Maungakotukutuku Road. Walk south to reach Mt Wainui. The route is blazed within the bush.
