Mangaweka

This quiet Rangitikei town has an interesting collection of old small-town buildings. There are three older churches on the highway and in the village itself a substantial bank building, old shops and a range of older houses. On the main road there is a DC3 aircraft fronting for the Mangaweka adventure company who offer rafting and kayaking on the Rangitikei River. Mangaweka is the setting for Robin White's well known painting with that name.
