Te Awamutu Museum

A district museum and archive. One exhibit "True Colours" tells the story of the Finn Brothers (Split Enz/Crowded House). The Tangata Whenua Gallery is well worth visiting. It features a range of taonga Maori, including the figure of Uenuku - one of the most treasured taonga of the Tainui people. Te Awamutu's past as a garrison town is recalled with a collection of militaria.
