The versatile gallery cafe morphs into a glamorous venue at night time, sometimes available for functions. In it's daytime guise it provides attractive and nourishing food for gallery goers. As a restaurant, the emphasis is Canterbury produce served in imaginative ways. They enjoy creating a variety of salads, including a smoked chicken and a celebrated Akaroa salmon where the salmon has been cured in tequila and lime. Of course all this remains a virtual truth until the repairs on the Art Gallery are completed, the doors open, the kitchen can fire back up and without a doubt the customers will roll in. Planned reopening around about New Year 2016 - watch this space.
