5949 State Highway 6, Pelorous Bridge, Marlborough
Tall trees and grass provide a relaxing riverside picnic spot for travellers between Blenheim and Nelson. There are several short forest walks to waterfalls, river swimming and a camping ground. The present bridge uses the concrete piers and abutments of its predecessor, a truss bridge erected in 1885. The Kahikatea Flat Campground is a pleasant overnight stay, but in summer gets popular and requires a booking.
The Pelorus Bridge Café provides an opportunity to buy a homemade pie.
