The Royal Albatross Colony at Taiaroa Head, on the tip of the Otago Peninsula, is the only mainland breeding colony of albatross in the world.
TheRoyal Albatross Centre is owned and operated by a private charitable trust.
Except for Christmas Day it is open to visitors all year.
