There has been a 'ferry' using coupled punts to cross the Clutha river here since 1896. It operates on weekdays from 8am to 10am and from 4pm to 6pm. Ph 415 9064
Tuapeka Mouth was an inland port for about 30 years until 1939 for paddle wheel steamers to and from Balclutha.
