The Britten Stables has a phenomenally rich history. A history which we the owners, Isabelle and Tim, are dedicated to sharing with guests from all over the world who seek an experience that is completely unique.

Passionate travellers ourselves, we came to realise that the home Isabelle grew up in (which her late father and renowned Inventor, John Britten, personally built decades earlier) had more to offer than most luxury boutique hotels and event venues around the world.

So, when the opportunity presented itself after the Canterbury earthquakes in 2011, the husband and wife team undertook the enormous task of rebuilding the historic dwelling, formerly a horse stables for nearby Mona Vale Gardens and following that, the birth place of the world-record-setting Britten V1000 motorcycle designed and built in the garage by Isabelle's late father, John Britten.

We restored the original charm of The Britten Stables and transformed it into the exquisite boutique luxury B&B that it is today. It is with immense pride that we welcome you to experience it first hand.
