Takapuna Beach

Takapuna is a very popular beach close to the business area with good parking and a large boat ramp. There are toilets and a changing block, as well as a picnic area. On a clear day enjoy great views of the volcanic island of Rangitoto and other Hauraki Gulf Islands.
Takapuna Beach was the setting for Bruce Mason's solo play,"The end of the golden weather" which begins with the words: ‘Let me take you on a voyage into that territory of the heart that we call childhood.’ Mason performed the play over 1,000 times.
