Piha

Auckland's favourite west coast beach, famous for its beach life and impressive setting. The left-hand break at Piha is Auckland's favourite surfing spot. There is a surf Life saving club at either end to cope with large summer crowds and dangerous swimming conditions. You can climb the awe-inspiring Lion Rock on a steep track for magnificent views.
There is a camping ground and in the domain on Seaview road a large new children's playground. Some lucky Aucklanders have baches (holiday homes) here but most visitors are day trippers.
