25 Judges Bay Road, Parnell, Auckland
A popular pool with salty water of Olympic size. From its location at the foot of Parnell there are splendid harbour views. The baths were opened in 1914 but the present "Lido" look dates from 1955 and there has been a recent revamp. The baths have received an "Enduring Award" from the New Zealand Institute of Architects. Design was by the City Architect Tibor Donner. There is a magnificent mural - it is thought that Donner had been inspired by a visit to the University in Mexico City.
