6 Ambrico Place, New Lynn-Titirangi, Auckland
For over 40 years Crown Lynn operated a pottery producing a wide range of products strongly identified with New Zealand and found in most homes. That heritage is recalled in this museum which contains items which will resonate with many New Zealanders. Crown Lynn was part of a clay industry that flourished in West Auckland for the better part of a century. The museums collection is based on that art collector Richard Quinn, who dug up pieces of pottery from the old Crown Lynn factory after it closed in 1989. It also draws from a collection of clay machinery held by the old Waitakere City Council.
