7A Triangle Road, Maungakiekie-Tamaki, Mount Wellington, Auckland
Until the 1950s, this now little known park located in Mt Wellington was a popular spot for Aucklanders. The then owner, Mr Vandamme stockedthe lagoon with goldfish and carp, and nurtured the bird and plant life. People used to visit the area and pick water lilies for which the lagoon was renowned.Unfortunately with the industrial explosion of the 1960s, substantial industrial development took place within the water shed of the lagoon and the area became polluted and virtually died. In the 1970s, Auckland City purchased the lagoon area and began a programme with local industry to combat pollution and return the area to its former beauty.. Dog exercise: We do not currently have dog exercise area information for this park. Please check for signage at the park.
