Mt Albert - Owairaka

Also known as Owairaka Domain. Mt Albert - Owairaka is an area of open countryside that offers a rural and natural atmosphere and respite from the surrounding urban area. The park is one of several volcanic cones in the Auckland area and is recognised for its cultural, archaeological, geological and landscape values. It has a long history of Maori occupation, with some evidence of this visible today in the form of terraces, pits and middens on the cone’s slopes..
