Kopupaka reserve

This 22 hectare wetland park, landscaped to perfection by the Isthmus group won the World Landscape of the Year 2016 at the World Architecture Festival.

The design is based on the traditional eeling basket, with sustainably harvested New Zealand timber used to recreate the shape of baskets amongst five stormwater ponds that make up this wetland.

Functional features of the park are a playground, walkways and a skating area, all useful in an area that backs onto a retail precinct in an area of population growth.
