The Pah Homestead and James Wallace Arts Trust

A restored homestead provides an elegant setting for a notable collection of contemporary art. It sits in a public park. Exhibitions from the James Wallace collection are on display to the public. The Homestead, now a Category I historic place, was designed by Architect Thomas Mahoney and completed in 1879. There is a quality café.

University of Otago Wallace Residency at The Pah Homestead is a three-month arts residency. It is open to alumni of the Otago Arts Fellowships and other creative scholars associated with the University. The residency is an opportunity for arts practitioners such as writers, curators, filmmakers and composers. Alumni of the University of Otago Arts Fellowships and other creative scholars associated with the University of Otago are invited to apply for the three-month Residency. The Residency provides a fully furnished apartment, the use of a car, and a stipend.
