Maori Warrior Sculpture

This prominently sited bronze statue, "Maori Warrior" of a Maori figure in Kaitaka cloak is by Molly Macalister. It was unveiled in 1967. The figure carries a mere, a traditional club made of wood, bone or greenstone. The Kaitaka cloak would have been of finely woven flax.
