25 Huntly Road, Campbells Bay, Auckland
Once considered one of Auckland's far flung reaches, the pretty beach Campbell's Bay now fills a role as a classic Auckland suburb. This means a group of gentle hills, complete with early 20th century wooden bungalows, the quarter acre sections with some cut in half and the later 20th century infill housing parked in the former garden. This bay has retained some of it's exclusivity because of it's natural boundaries, with a population still sitting around 2500, many of these retirees.
These little burbs come with transport challenges and soaring property values because the draw-card remains the same as it always was, a gorgeous golden sand beach, framed by pohutukawa trees where swimming is safe and the views are of the Hauraki Gulf towards Rangitoto. Community pride plays a part here with regular working bees keeing the half hectare beach reserve in pristine order. The community also has facilities for golf, tennis and other recreations and is in close proximity to the impressive Centennial Park.
