57 The Parade, Bucklands Beach, Auckland
A self contained and self assured little peninsula a little further south than the rest of Auckland's established set of East Coast Bays, Bucklands Beach and Eastern Beach (on the south side) are an oasis of Auckland suburbia at it's purest. Mainly settled in the 1970s, this isthmus reaches out into the Hauraki Gulf pointing towards Waiheke, as far as historic Musick Point, providing a limited and exclusive environment. Served by Half Moon Bay Marina, extremely popular McLean's college and the facilities of nearby Howick, Bucklands and Eastern Beaches attract new Aucklanders and Aucklanders who have 'made it' and want to go boating.
The safe harbour adjoining Half Moon Bay is home to many yachts and launches of medium size, both beaches are classic and attractive on a good day, and awesome for a windsurfing on a blustery ones.
The Pakuranga Rotary Shared Path including a newish boardwalk, joins this area with other Pakuranga beaches.
