Olive Davis Reserve and Chapman-Taylor Cottage

You need to be slightly intrepid to push through the trees of the reserve to find the over-grown Chapman-Taylor Cottage built for Olive Davis in 1922. Mrs Davis bequeathed the property as a reserve to theForest and Bird Society.

As he often did on his projects James Chapman-Taylor contributed beyond doing the design. 'He made furniture and tiles for the benches and the bath beside the copper fireplace used to heat bathwater. The hand adzed cupboards, beams and lintels are unique.'
