Britomart Precinct

Britomart Precinct represents an attempt at a comprehensive redevelopment designed to attract people and activity day and night, and become a lively focal point for the city.
A 'green' building with a green wall: the Britomart East building forms the east side of the precinct. It incorporates energy-efficient glazing, heating and air conditioning systems, low-flow plumbing fittings, comprehensive waste management systems, low-emission paints and adhesives and recycled and recyclable materials.

An atrium spans the Britomart station beneath. In the Britomart precinct which is mostly bounded by and given its character by restored Victorian warehouse buildings you can find bars and restaurants and fashion boutiques.

Britomart is bounded on the western end by the former Chief Post Office which now serves as the main entrance to the Britomart station.

From the beginning Britomart has been an important place in Auckland.

A Farmer's market, La Cigale is held on Saturday mornings.
