The course, which snuggles between the surf of Cloudy Bay and bush clad hills dominated by Mount Robertson, offers a challenge for all grades of golfers. You can move to the rhythm of the surf on the beach, smell the ozone, watch the tui and fantails, admire the bush covered backdrop, and play golf all at the same time, all year round.

The tree lined, slightly undulating and easily walked course has par 4s and 5s with subtle bends that make your driving important, some new pot hole bunkers and intriguing greens ( usually quick, which generally fall away from the ocean – but not always), to test for accurate pitching, chipping and putting.

Irrigation provides excellent fairway conditions in summer, while free draining soils ensure dry underfoot conditions in winter – a truly all-weather course.

The rural setting means the course lacks the crowds of some more urban clubs, so on occasions you could have the place virtually to yourself; it would pay to bring a friend just in case.

The clubhouse is available for hire for weddings, family functions and other gatherings.
