Bookmark has all the ingredients of a great secondhand bookshop – finely bound treasures, rarities and oddities, a vast fiction section, and specialty areas packed with carefully collected volumes. Vintage red leather armchairs and a scattering of maritime-themed curiosities give it an Edwardian lounge feel, it can be quite the place to lose a few hours. Although the books come and go, some areas are pretty guaranteed to have something to suit particular interests, such as the Maori and New Zealand history section, and the travel, aviation, maritime and military areas.
