Mimiwhangata Coastal Park

Currently designated as a Marine Park and valued for its spectacular scenery, wildlife and cultural heritage, Mimiwhangata is the site of a Marine Reserve proposal. The beaches and dune areas are favoured nesting sites for threatened shorebirds. To access the beach which has sheltered shallow waters and is ideal for young families, there is a walk from the parking place at the road-end.
