100 Tennyson Street, Napier South, Napier, Napier City
Art Deco may be the Napier thing but this grand building is classical in style. It was designed by the firm of Hyland and Philips and was completed in 1922 but was repaired and strengthened in 1931 after the earthquake. The building has a Category 1 listing with the Historic Places Trust. An important New Zealand institution, the Public Trustee was established in 1872.
