290 Bain Street, Clifton, Clifton, Invercargill City
Creativity got the better of this family who are supposed to be in the business of destruction but could not help themselves recycling some of the curiosities of Southland History. They built a village!
Sometimes used as a filmset, and now a firm favourite on the alternative tourist circuit, Demo-World is known for sheer originality and quirkyness. One of the rebuilt buildings is a church, complete with a mannequin bride, in fact she is not the only mannequin, this place seems to be a convention for life size plastic dolls, some as old as your grandma. They populate all corners of the village in various states and positions.
Amongst the kitch are many easily recognisable heritage items, especially farm machinery and transport items, as well as much of the smaller stuff found indoors. Feast your eyes. And if you have a camera, please engage that too and send us the images.
