Munro State Building - Nelson Government Precinct

This pre-stressed concrete modernist building is by Cedric Firth and was completed in 1966 after the end of his partnership with Ernst Plishke. It was described as his expression of 'pure internationalism' and delineating his style from that of Pilshke. It shares the site with the Nelson courthouse by the Ministry of Works.(1973-74).
A plaque on the building explains the role of Nelson founding father Sir David Munro after whom the building was named.
