Palmerston North Information Centre

Inland City, Palmerston North (population 80,000) is the home of Massey University and a number of Research Institutes with an agricultural focus. The Rugby museum will prove an attraction for some visitors. On the outskirts of the town the extensive adoption of wind as an energy source has lead to a distinctive landscape.
The Women's 'Rest Rooms' at the northern end of the information centre is in Art Deco style, built by Palmerston North engineering staff in 1935. There are a number of other Art Deco buildings near the town square - a pamphlet is available in the Information Centre.
The Northern Explorer train stops in Palmerston North.
