41 Towey Street, Holmes Hill, Waitaki
An opportunity to stay in Historic Accommodation here at Pen-y-Bryn (Top of the Hill in Welsh) in Oamaru.
This Victorian Villa may be impressive on the outside, but it is the internal fixtures which are breathtaking and qualified it for Category One status. It's original Welsh owner is reported to have trawled Europe for some of the fittings which are still in place to this day. Built from timber and designed by either father or son of the famous Forrester and Lemon architects, it is a little less usual in the Oamaru environment where virtually anything else impressive is made from local white stone.
The location is also worth a mention, with clear views and a comfortable walk to Bushy Beach, and easy access to all of Oamaru's downtown heritage attractions.
