876 Kinloch Road, Kinloch, Queenstown-Lakes
Kinloch is the tiny settlement on the far side of the Rees River at the top of Lake Wakatipu. Alongside the enormous Lodge here, a smaller, sustainable accommodation option has sprung up, well suited to trampers who are starting or finishing the Routeburn Walk. The other end is at Glenorchy, not far as the crow flies, but a few river crossings away. The Eco-ethos is part of Glenorchy's sustainable philosophy, embraced by the new camping ground.
Eco-Scapes are little pods or huts, with an ecological style and a fair few luxuries for tired trampers. They are lined with Plywood, have huge picture windows with incredible views accross the Rees, and feature projectors for Netflix. Food is available.
