Western House Historic BnB Kurow

Utterly genuine 1861 hotel offered as BnB accommodation with gardens, at Otiake, Kurow.
A shepherd of the massive Otekaieke sheep station the spreads across the Waitaki Valley at Otaiake, Christian Hille, put this hotel up to complement the ferry service he offered across the river here. The ferry and hotel were useful to the travellers of the goldrush days. Apart from the fact that the station has broken up and there are now bridges over the river, not much else has changed. The Hille family are still in the area too.
