Tokomaru Bay

Surfing: Exposed beach break for surfing and bodyboarding. The beach is safe for swimming. Tokomaru Bay has three areas available for freedom camping in the summer months. n.b. a permit is required.

St Mary’s Church sits within the Tuatini marae grounds in Tokomaru Bay. The church, now sheathed in iron, has been here since the 1880s but according to Heritage NZ there have been Anglican religious structures at Tuatini marae since 1844.
