Dating from 1858, the central portion of historic Colenso House is heritage listed and the cottage on the grounds is even older.
The Historic Cottage was the original home of William Colenso, and is available as accommodation. Colenso had come from the Bay of Islands where he was a printer, and was been present at the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
