Oamaru Harbour Board Building

For a town based on pastoral produce the port was of major importance and the Venetian style Harbour Board building was the nerve centre of its activity. It was constructed in 1876, two years after the formation of the Harbour Board and designed by Thomas Forrester who was employed by the Harbour Board and did his architecture after hours.
