This 1908 villa speaks for itself, although it is not heritage listed, it is a magnificently preserved example of the high aspirations of Edwardian architecture in Oamaru.

The two storey villa is ornately decorated, with woodwork, stained glass, tiles, wrought iron and plaster features and it is also set in an enormous park.

This is the welcome message from the owners: Built in 1908 the house has been lovingly conserved and retains many original features, including tiled fireplaces, beautiful stained glass windows and magnificent plasterwork ceilings. This conservation, combined with sympathetic modernisation, including central heating throughout, has ensured that the elegance of yesteryear blends seamlessly with modern comfort and convenience, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. A veranda and balcony of wrought iron lacework wrap around three sides of the house, soaking up sun and giving the occupants lush garden vistas. The gardens radiate out from a circular lake and offer a haven of peace and tranquillity in suburbia. Our guests are welcome to wander through them at their leisure.
