Beehive Creek Walkway

This tramping track following the sandy bed of Beehive Creek and passing through native bush, creekbed and farmland. DoC says it may take four hours but NZPlaces says likely 2-3 hours. It is not a loop so if you don't want to walk the road (short) back then leave a vehicle at either end. Note: The walkway is closed for lambing from 1 August to 31 October.
Peter S says: This is a good 'easy' day out track with excellent view (from the top of the hill) of the Ruahine's. Cross the 'brook' a number of times - great to get a bit of water in the old boots. A steep climb after following the stream with spectacular views all around. This is a must do for all ages, and fitness levels. Take an easy stroll through the Mighty Manawatu. I 'do' this walk about 3 times a year to loose a few cobwebs. Regards Peter S.
