Jackson Bay

In the 1870s the natural ocean harbour attracted settlers to this extremely remote place. It is now in the heart of the World Heritage Area. The Wharekai Te Kau Walk crosses the headland. An exciting yet easy opportunity to have a good look around this special area is via Waitoto River Safaris, a mountain to sea jetboat experience.
