Urban Habitat Collective

A group of Wellington families are collectively developing an apartment building intended to be *be beautiful, warm, dry, and environmentally responsible; it will have green spaces and shared spaces and it will support community and good living.*Like other groups they are drawing on Co-housing in Denmark and the United States, Baugruppen in Germany, the Nightingale model in Australia and deliberative development in France, to translate them into an urban, New Zealand context.
Things to consider are the governance structure, building design, finance and engaging more people.

The group have secured a 913 square metre property in Adelaide Rd giving its participants the advantages of close-in city living which minimises the need for cars.
