Coromandel Town Former Courthouse

This building has served many purposes. Built in 1873 it was the Government Building at Coromandel , the administrative centre for the Coromandel goldfield incorporating a courthouse for the Resident Magistrate and the Mining Warden, together with office accommodation for the District Engineer and other officials. It later housed the post office and is now a service centre for the Thames/Coromandel District.
