330 309 Road, Preece Point-Kaimarama, Thames-Coromandel
Thames-Coromandel Community Halls
The quirky bush community of the 309 Road includes a herd of pigs sometimes running free on the road.
Rather than being a problem, this is yet another offbeat asset which amuses the punters who meander through this unique landscape. Usually cruising not far from The Waterworks, they are owned and managed by a generous and genteel character named Stuart and sometimes his brother.
The favoured activity here is cuddling piglets, and on the banned list are bacon jokes and pig rustling. Koha recommended.
NZPlaces would love a picture of the pigs and Stuart.
