Fletcher Bay - Coromandel Walkway

Fletcher Bay is a safe swimming beach and has a DOC camping ground. The Coromandel Walkway starts here. A gentle route 11km long, it is one way but a return trip (6 hours) will get you back to the start. Several hilltop vantage points en-route have spectacular views. Take your swimming gear for the estuary at Stony Bay. An inland longer route caters for mountain bikers. A commercial operator will take you from Coromandel Town to Fletcher Bay and transport you home from Stony Bay. There is a DOC camping ground at Stony Bay and a backpackers at Fletcher Bay.
