Opito Bay and Opito Point Pa

An expansive north facing beach of golden sand fronts a settlement of holiday homes. Opito Bay is reached by an unsealed road from Kuaotunu. There are picnic tables, public toilets and boat launching places. At the south-eastern end a steep but short track including a set of steps leads up the headland to a former pa site and spectacular sea views of the islands off the coast. (15 minutes each way)
