Hotel Motueka

This small town pub has been here in various iterations since 1850. A peek at the externals of the rear quarters reveals some vintage timber construction, but the front has to be seen to be believed. An eclectic mix of architectural styles from throughout the 20th Century are mashed together and overlaid with a coat of metallic pewter shaded paint and decorated with an overlay of definitively Deco signage. Only in Motueka. The owners advertise their accommodation as a vast carpark for RVs, pub-style rooms and the pub downstairs is exactly that. A pub, with live music three times a week.
