Scotts Landing

The tip of the Mahurangi Peninsula is a picturesque place called Scott's Landing. Up the road is an 1852 farmhouse named Scott's Hotel or Scott's Homestead.

The area has a colourful history, well documented on the local website, Scott's Landing. It used to be served by ferries, which is why the 'landing', but now you can drive north from Auckland on SH1, take the turnoff at Warkworth for Matakana then take the turnoff to Sandspit, Snells Beach and Algies Bay. Drive past or through these locations and watch for the Scotts Landing sign on your right after you have driven through Algies Bay.
