Devonport Flats

Higher living densities are gradually being adopted in New Zealand cities. This surprising find in a provincial town suggests not everybody in New Zealand has coveted a quarter acre to live on, 'Devonport Flats' were built in 1922 and 1924 for Mr A.B Waldie to a design by New Plymouth architects Messenger, Griffiths and Taylor. New Zealand architects and builders are said to have pioneered construction in reinforced concrete.
