Waitangi Soda Springs Hot Pools

Off the Waitangi river at Rotoma, is a spring which has been recently upgraded into a basic pool complex. It used to be free or very cheap, now it might be about $10 and the consensus is that it is well worth it. There are changing sheds. Though some people complain about the colour or texture of the natural water, many others say it is full of manganese and superior to commercial pools. Wear your old swimwear or rinse it soon after bathing. It might pay also to be wary of sandflies.

"Very nice big hot pool with two streams, another one really hot and another cooler so you can find suitable spot in the top pool. Bottom pool has got a small water race where you could possibly have a water massage."
