Lottin Point

Just beyond the northern tip of Cape Runaway is a delicious hideaway bay called Lottin Point. The unanimous opinion about this place is that it boasts fantastic fishing opportunities. The place to stay is a lodge called Lottin Point Motel. Visitors might tell you they have seen sharks here, fur seals and a variety of fish including kingfish. The shallows may be a bit short of legal size paua, but the big fish opportunities a bit further out are impressive. Horseriding and cycling are the alternative activities. An amazing out of the way stop on the East Cape Scenic Route.
