Rated a garden of national significance, Ngamamaku is open September to March by appointment. There is an entry fee, Ph 06 7527 873 A mixture of natural native bush and formal gardens, the most recent development is the Japanese Garden.

The location has an interesting history, dating back to pre-European times and has been developed as a garden since the 1980s.
